Why We Started The Pride Brides

When we started The Pride Brides, it wasn’t just about launching a cute shop — it was about taking up space in a wedding industry that often forgets people like us.

We still remember standing in the wedding aisle, excited to decorate for our big day — and realizing we had to buy two "Mr & Mrs" signs just to piece together a single "Mrs & Mrs" version. It was frustrating, funny, and honestly, kind of sad. Why weren’t we included? Why was it so hard to find something as simple and joyful as a sign that reflected our love?

And it wasn’t just that one item. Everywhere we looked, we saw the same thing: heteronormativity, default straight couples, and zero inclusive options. The message was clear — queer love was an afterthought, if it was thought of at all.

So we decided to do something about it.

We created The Pride Brides as a space where lesbians, gays, theys, and everyone beautifully in between could feel seen, celebrated, and centered — not just during Pride Month, but all year long. A place where you don’t have to edit someone else’s vision — because it was made with you in mind.

And while our heart is in weddings, our mission is bigger than that. Queer joy doesn’t begin and end with a ceremony — it’s in every party, every gift, every quiet moment where you choose to be yourself and love out loud.

At the end of the day, The Pride Brides is more than a brand. It's a love letter to the community. A way to say: You’re valid. You’re celebrated. You belong here.

Thanks for being here with us. 🌈
